The mayor of Benito Juárez, Luis Mendoza, announced the launch of a microsite to keep residents informed about construction projects in the area. This is framed within the presentation of an initiative before the Congress of Mexico City to redefine the powers of the boroughs in real estate development, aiming to guarantee healthy coexistence and prevent abuses.
In this regard, Mendoza points out that his goal is for anyone who misuses a plot of land in the borough to be banned for up to five years from building or conducting commerce. The importance of ensuring that all real estate development in Benito Juárez is carried out within the legal framework and respecting urban and natural spaces was emphasized, to maintain the area as one of the best in CDMX.
Particular concern is highlighted regarding illegal logging of trees on construction sites, indicating that efforts will be made to prevent new developments and preserve the quality of life for residents. Additionally, harsher penalties are proposed for those who negatively impact the environment and surroundings. The mayor mentions his commitment to transparency and safety in the borough.
Regarding the new microsite, it was reported that it will allow real-time consultation of construction notifications, geolocation, photographs, and complete information about the projects through an interactive map on the borough's website. This is intended to ensure that neighbors are aware of what happens in their surroundings in an accessible manner.
